You’ll build AI into the websites, software and internal tools we make for clients, and into products like Openy. It’s a hands-on role for an engineer who ships real features, not demos, and who can tell a client honestly what’s worth building.
What you’ll do
- Design and ship AI features in client web apps, from smart search and assistants to document processing and content tools
- Build retrieval pipelines and integrations with large language model APIs
- Set up evaluations, guardrails and monitoring so AI features are reliable, safe and affordable to run
- Automate internal workflows across reporting, content and project delivery
- Work closely with our designers so AI features feel simple and genuinely useful
- Help clients understand what AI can and can’t do for their business
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript and/or Python skills
- Experience shipping production features with large language model APIs
- Comfort with Next.js, React and Node
- Working knowledge of Postgres and vector search (for example Supabase and pgvector)
- A practical grasp of prompt design, evaluations, cost and latency trade-offs
- The ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical clients
Nice to have
- Experience with agent frameworks, tool calling or MCP
- Familiarity with the Australian Privacy Principles
- Agency or startup experience
